Akanin’ny Nofy
Early morning departure to the east coast and the small village of Manambato. Here you’ll take a boat ride to Lake Ampitabe, where your hotel is waiting. Spend the afternoon at leisure and at around 4.30-5.00 (depending on the season), transfer to the Aye-aye island to spot the unique nocturnal lemur.DAY SEVEN

Tamatave (Toamasina)
Morning visit to the hotel’s private reserve, and transfer to Tamatave by boat. Upon arrival, you’ll spend the early afternoon on an orientation tour including the big market, before transferring to your hotel for some R+R.DAY EIGHT

Transfer to Tamatave airport for your morning flight back to the capital city. Upon arrival onward drive to Antsirabe.DAY NINE

Full day walking excursion in the city of Antsirabe and the Betafo area on the outskirts of the city. Alternatively, enjoy a morning bicycle ride to the Andraikiba lake, or a longer day cycling tour to both lakes Andraikiba and Tritriva.DAY TEN

Morning drive to the city of Fianarantsoa, where you’ll have the chance to explore the old city with its numerous churches and narrow cobblestone streets. If times allow, visit of the Piero Men workshop, he is the most famous Malagasy photographer, born in Fianarantsoa and well known for his black & white photos.DAY ELEVEN

Today you have a full day dedicated to learning about of the Betsileo people: a highland ethnic group of Madagascar, whose name translates literally as “The Many Invincible Ones”. Throughout the day you’ll visit typical village, meet with villagers, find out how the Malagasy people cultivate rice, and share time with local people, before being invited into their homes for a traditional Malagasy lunch. You’ll return to your hotel in the late afternoon, and spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Drive down to Ranohira, the gateway to Isalo National Park. On the way, visit the Anjà Community reserve to spot ringtailed lemurs. Dependant on the day you might also stop off at Ambalavao, for the famous Zebu market.DAY THIRTEEN

Today you will visit the amazingly unique Tsimanampetsoste National Park. This lesser-visited National Park where you can spot greater pink flamingoes (season dependant), baobabs, spectacular specimens of tall pachypodiums, but also numerous lemurs (from ring-tailed to Verreaux’s sifaka), reptiles and frogs. You’ll be provided with a packed lunch today.DAY EIGHTEEN
