Two terrific pieces of news this week means that Team SRT is very excited to make your 2022 travel wishlist a reality ...
The headline news that all but 7 destinations are off England’s red list is a fantastic boost for anyone longing to fly away, cruise the oceans or take that epic train journey overseas. After so long thinking about travelling, now we can feel confident about planning with a realistic expectation that we can go.
Hot off the press from us here at Savile Row Travel, we are delighted to announce the renewal of our ATOL licence. Together with our ABTA membership, this means SRT clients can travel in the knowledge that not only are they personally supported by the team, but also financially protected under ATOL and ABTA terms.
So as 2021 nears its conclusion, let’s look at 2022 with excitement and optimism.
Whether you travel as a family or adults only, Corfu is among the most wonderful of all Greek island holidays. From the sandy beaches to the character streets of Corfu Town, the deliciously authentic food of the sea-side tavernas to high quality hotels that tick every box, Corfu is an idyll just over 3 hours from London.
For ultimate all inclusive luxury, Ikos Dassia is hard to beat (so says SRT marketer Catherine). Attentive but unobtrusive service where every detail is covered makes this resort perfect for children (the poolside gelateria will delight your little ones) and adults alike.
We are also fans of the serenely beautiful Domes of Corfu and it’s sister hotel Domes Miramare Corfu. SRT MD Giles Hoff has just returned from a well-deserved break to both resorts and would be delighted to give you his take on what they offer.
What better way to shrug off the British winter than a pre-spring break in the sun. With temperatures in the mid twenties, both destinations offer balmy weather without intense heat, and some of the best resorts to be found anywhere in the world.
The Shangri-La Le Touessrok is a perennial favourite. Golfers will love its golf course, Ile aux Cerfs, located on an offshore island and offers superb play on its 18-hole championship course. And of course, gastronomes will enjoy taking amazing culinary journeys at the resort’s exceptional restaurants and bars, which serve international gourmet cuisine.
Or head across the Atlantic to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula to the Belmond Maroma. Spend lazy days in ocean and poolside restaurants or stroll through flower-filled gardens where parrots and butterflies perch. Explore some of Mexico’s great heritage sites, dive in mysterious underwater caves or shop till you drop in Cancun.
With so much to see and do in the USA, it’s difficult to know where to start!
We think a few days in New York has something for everyone and their budget. Mid town hotels offer terrific value in a great location. Or take up temporary residence at Aman New York, an urban sanctuary and architectural icon in the very heart of Manhattan.
Hit the road with a west coast tour that takes in the real highlights of the west coast including cities, wine country, beaches and Yosemite National Park. Stay in Yosemite National Park at Tenaya Lodge. It’s perfect for active families and anyone who wants to get back to nature says our USA specialist Louise Lupton, from personal experience.
Struggling to choose between beach and safari? Look no further than Kenya! It’s a firm favourite of our Africa specialist Lucie Thaxter.
Rest assured that Lucie will give you expert advice on the best safari options for your budget and group size/type, whether you are looking for high end luxury or something a little more rustic. Perhaps say at Lewa House in the heart of Kenya’s Laikipia Plateau for best game viewing in the whole of East Africa.
Then head to the stunning Kenyan coastline to Waterlovers Beach Resort. This is a gorgeous little enclave of peace and luxury, located right on the famous white sands of Diani Beach, South of Mombasa.
The Caribbean is holiday heaven! Beautiful beaches, balmy weather and a sublimely welcoming atmosphere puts the islands of this region right at the top of a travel wishlist. From exclusive adults only resorts to family focused hotels that guaranteed fun for everyone, it’s hard to find anywhere better for relaxation and activity.
We love Eden Rock-St Barths for its joyful atmosphere for the whole family. With luxury accommodation, white sandy beaches, clear turquoise sea and amazing coral reefs, it’s a guaranteed family-pleaser without compromising on the finer things.
Or for adults only, situated on Barbados’ west coast is The House by Elegant Hotels, a purpose designed over-18s adults-only retreat, The House is serene sophistication and simplicity exemplified.
Explore jungles, meet baby orang-utans, discover incredible wildlife, cruise along rivers and sleep in the heart of the Malaysian jungle – an adventure like no other.
Begin your adventure with a few days in Kuala Lumpur before flying to to the island of Borneo and on to Sepilok Nature Resort, set in the heart of the jungle rainforest, to spot orang-utans. Transfer to Turtle Island (Selingan) where you may spot turtles laying their eggs.
Then head to Bungaraya Island Resort for some rest and relaxation among spectacular scenery and a beautiful beach.
