When to go?

The most popular time is in the dry season from June to October. Be aware that midsummer is the African winter and you will need warm clothes for dawn game drives. The rains in April and May are best avoided.

Alternatively the shoulder season between the long and short rains – from January to March, is actually considered by some safari veterans to be the best time to go game viewing in Kenya and Tanzania as fresh growth refreshes the landscape and makes for great photo opportunities.

Getting there

Tsavo is located in the South East of Kenya, and easily visited as part of your fly-in safari itinerary. Mombasa Air operates one scheduled flight daily from Mombasa/Diani. The flight takes approximately one hour. • The flight is followed by a 10 minutes drive to the camp with game viewing enroute.
